The Carmel girls basketball team overwhelmed Anderson 99-27 in a Wednesday game at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Class 4A No. 1 Greyhounds led 32-4 after the first quarter and never allowed the Indians to score more than nine points in a period. Four different Carmel players reached double figures.
Amy Dilk scored 24 points and was all over the stat line with eight assists, six steals and five rebounds. Jasmine McWilliams added 16 points and collected seven rebounds. Tomi Taiwo drained four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points, and also handed out four assists. Reagan Hune added 10 points, including a 5-of-5 effort from the free-throw line. Hune also pulled seven rebounds.
Macy Berglund, Blake Smith and Sophie Bair all picked up five rebounds in the game. Smith dished out five assists and Bair had four assists. As a team, Carmel had 28 assists, 16 of them by halftime.
“I thought our defense to start the game was really good,” said Greyhounds coach Tod Windlan. “Jasmine was really good early in the game inside and she established herself inside. Then Amy and Tomi really went to work.”
Carmel is now 19-1 for the season and next plays at Fishers on Tuesday.
