Time to get revved up for Friday’s Drive-In with ATI

Submitted

You can feel the excitement in the air and the green flag is about to drop. It’s almost time to race to the Monon Square Shopping Center for the first of Actors Theatre of Indiana’s (ATI) 2021 Drive-In shows.

Starting at 7 p.m. this Friday, May 14, ATI’s Trio, along with special guest Matt Branic, will take the stage with “Start Your Engines.” In recognition of the Indianapolis 500 at the end of May, you can look forward to hearing music from the highways and by-ways of America. The Trio, along with Branic, will perform everything from “King of the Road” to the surf music of the 1960s.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, it’s not too late. You only need one ticket per car and up to six people per car. Click here to visit Eventbrite to purchase them now.

Planning to dine while you enjoy the show? Order a picnic dinner from Jamaican Reggae Grill, Union Brewing Company or Ristorante Roma, all located in the Monon Square Shopping Center. Or feel free to pack up your own snacks and drinks and bring them along.

ATI looks forward to seeing you in person and being able to interact with you while you dance and sing along to music that everyone knows and loves, all performed live, and all performed in a safe atmosphere.

ATI returns in June and July for two more exciting shows this summer:

  • Our Father’s Favorites – June 18: It’s June and that means honoring Dad. The ATI co-founders put together a night with songs loved by their own Dads. It’s a real mix of country, folk rock, tight harmonies and the stuff that makes you move your feet. So, grab a Dad and come join. Click here for tickets.
  • Summer Fun – July 16: Dwight Lightning and the Conch City All-Stars join ATI for this summer Drive-In. Enjoy some island/beach tunes in the heartland of America. A little Jimmy Buffet, a little John Fogerty, a little Doobie Brothers … and much more as they will take you to that roadside haunt or beach destination in your mind. Click here for tickets.

Note: All the ATI Drive-Ins will feature special guests along with the ATI co-founders.

These opportunities will still allow patrons to engage in a fun, safe and unique way. Shows run from 7 to 9 p.m. and will provide a fun atmosphere while still following the mandated safety measures and social distancing guidelines.
