Time to get festive & patriotic in Sheridan!

Lions Club member Nate Mylet continues a Sheridan Fourth of July Parade tradition that began many, many years ago when the late Jesse Quick donned the clown makeup and drove the little car along the parade route. Jesse and Anne Quick dubbed Nate their “adopted grandson” so it was only natural that he continued for them. (Photo provided)

The Sheridan Lions Club is once again staging the town’s annual Fourth of July parade.

Registration for parade participants will start on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. at the Sheridan High School parking lot. There is no fee to participate. Registration concludes at 9:45 and the parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. It will make its way to Main Street and conclude at Biddle Memorial Park.

The local Lions are offering cash prizes for the best or most unique in these categories: Float ($150), Tractor ($50), Golf Cart ($50), Antique Car/Truck ($50), Bicycle ($50), and Miscellaneous ($50).

Sheridan Schools Superintendent David Mundy and his wife Megan are Grand Marshals for this year’s event, which is recognized as one of the finest small-town parades.
