Tigers volleyball sweeps to two wins

The Fishers volleyball team swept past Pendleton Heights on Monday, 25-12, 25-12, 25-16.
The Class 4A No. 7 Tigers totaled 50 kills on 0.454 hitting, five aces and four blocks. Mallory Hernandez put down 19 kills, while Audrey Haworth hit 12 kills. Rose Duffy handed out 36 assists, giving her 501 for the season.
Serving-wise, Duffy smacked three aces, with Haworth hitting two. Haworth also made two block asists.
Fishers also played well on defense. Emma Rosenberg collected 14 digs, with Duffy making eight.
“Fishers’ 49 team digs was crucial against an Arabians team that loves to set the middle and run quick attacks,” said Tigers coach Steven Peek.
The Tigers swept Pike 25-14, 25-8, 25-8 on Tuesday. Fishers is now 14-2 for the season.

Hamilton Heights took on Zionsville, the No. 1-ranked in 4A, Monday and fell 25-18, 25-6, 25-12.
Emma Knowles dished out eight assists and made six digs, in addition to hitting one kill. Tori Hayden had six kills, two blocks and one dig. Hannah Crist made eight digs and served one ace.

University swept Eminence in straight sets Monday, 25-18, 25-17, 25-9.
Freshman Soren Rothenberg led the Trailblazers in kills and service aces.
