Fishers got back on the winning track Friday with a 21-13 Homecoming and Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory over Avon.
The Orioles got on the board first with a field goal, but the Tigers answered right away with a touchdown midway through the first quarter. Bennett Gorak threw the first of his three touchdown passes to Noah McPeek for a 16-yard score.
Avon went ahead early in the second quarter with a rushing touchdown, but Gorak and McPeek teamed up again for a short touchdown pass in the second period, and a Jonathan Tangara kick gave the Tigers a 13-10 lead at halftime.
Gorak tossed his third scoring pass to JonAnthony Hall, who took it in from six yards. A two-point conversion throw from Jase Ruggles to Sekai Bogle was good. The Orioles made another field goal in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers defense allowed them nothing else.
Carter Imes had an outstanding defensive performance, with 16 tackles, three for a loss. Jev Hutton made seven tackles and Jake Prewitt had six. On offense, Gorak went 16 of 24 for 253 yards; Hall caught seven of those passes for 163 yards.
Fishers is 2-2 in HCC play and 4-2 overall. The Tigers stay at home next Friday to take on conference opponent Franklin Central.
