Fishers kept its feet on the ground, and that helped the Tigers soar to a big Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on Friday.
Fishers beat Zionsville 37-7 at the Eagles’ field. Jon Tangara opened the Tigers’ scoring with a field goal, but after that, Fishers’ running game took over.
The Tigers were dominant on the ground, totaling 431 yards of rushing offense. Carson Dunn let loose for a 76-yard touchdown streak in the first quarter. Tangara’s kick made the score 10-0, and it would stay there through halftime.
Fishers revved things up in the third quarter, putting up 20 points. Dunn made a short touchdown run, then Khobie Martin picked up a couple of touchdowns of his own, scoring from two and 29 yards. Martin finished the Tigers’ scoring with a short run in the fourth period.
Martin totaled 202 yards on the ground, with Dunn gaining 118 yards. Tangara went 4-for-4 on extra-point kicks.
Fishers finished HCC play 4-3 and are 6-3 overall. The Tigers travel to Fort Wayne Northrop on Oct. 28 to play in Class 6A Sectional 3.
