Tigers gets another conference win on the road at Avon

Fishers traveled to Avon last Saturday and came home with a 27-13 Hoosier Crossroads Conference victory.

Neither team scored in the first quarter, but the Tigers got on the board just a few seconds into the second period. Denkota Fletcher took a 36-yard pass from Caden Hill into the end zone, and a Jon Tangara kick made it 7-0. The Orioles tied the game on a nine-yard quarterback keeper by Ray’von Martin.

Fishers jumped back ahead with 2:41 left after JonAnthony Hall threw a short pass to Jase Ruggles. Tangara made the kick afterwards, and the Tigers led 14-7 at halftime.

Hall went back to receiving in the third quarter, and he caught a 32-yard TD throw from Hill, putting Fishers ahead 21-7. Hall then rushed in a fourth-quarter TD early in the period from seven yards.

Hill was 13-of-27 through the air and totaled 194 yards. Fletcher made seven catches for 91 yards and Hall collected four receptions for 79 yards. Hall now holds Fishers school records for most career receiving yards with 2,083 and most career receiving touchdowns with 18.

Emmanuel Cowherd led the defense with nine total tackles. Jev Hutton had one sack.

The Tigers are 3-1 in HCC play and 4-2 overall. Fishers continues conference action next Friday with a game at Franklin Central.
