Tigers get early lead, beat Noblesville in series finale

Fishers won the third game of its series with Noblesville 10-1 on Saturday in a non-conference game at the Tigers’ field.
Fishers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning. Nick Lukac led off with a double, then Dominic Oliverio batted him in with a center field hit. Oliverio scored when Kaid Muth drew a bases-loaded alk.
Daniel Owens came up next, and his center field double sent JJ Woolwine and Kiel Brenczewski home. Muth later scored on a fielder’s choice by Charlie Walker.
The Millers scored their run in the third inning, when Cooper Miles hit a sacrifice fly to score Cole Barnes. The Tigers added four runs in the bottom of the third, starting with Walker’s RBI single to send Grant Whetsel home.
Walker was soon home himself, as Lukac hit a home run in the next at-bat. Jackson Preston later scored on a passed ball. Fishers scored its final run of the game in the sixth inning, when Ethan Davies batted in Brenczewski.
Lukac finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate. Preston and Whetsel both had two hits; Preston and Muth each hit a triple. Tristan Baker got the pitching win, with eight strikeouts over five innings.
Barnes hit a double for Noblesville, and he and DJ Owens each stole two bases.
The Tigers are 5-7 and play Tuesday at Mount Vernon. The Millers are 6-6 and host New Castle on Tuesday.
