Fishers dropped a 66-61 game at North Central on Tuesday.
The Panthers led 16-12 after the first quarter and 36-27 at halftime. Charlie Smith helped keep the Tigers close with 11 points in the first half. Fishers cut North Central’s lead to 53-46 by the end of the period; Bryce Williams had seven points and Lucas Prewitt made two 3-pointers. The Tigers continued to chip away in the fourth quarter, but the Panthers held on for the win.
Jeffrey Simmons scored 18 points and made history by reaching the 1,000-point level. Simmons is the first boys basketball player to reach the 1,000-point mark; he became the program’s leading scorer on Feb. 12. Three other Fishers players reached double figures: Williams finished with 17, while Smith and Prewitt both scored 11 points.
The Tigers are 13-6 and finish the regular season tonight by hosting Lawrence Central.
