Fishers beat Noblesville 41-13 Friday, Oct. 31 at the Millers’ Beaver Stadium to advance to the championship game of Class 6A Sectional 4.
The No. 9-ranked Tigers jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter. Tommy Williams scored the first touchdown, taking a 24-yard pass from Gage Sturgill into the end zone. That would be the first of Sturgill’s four touchdown passes in the game.
Ryan Thembulembu dominated the remainder of the period, with two rushing touchdowns from two and eight yards, respectively. Micah Hillen made all three extra-point kicks in the quarter.
Fishers increased their lead to 34-0 in the second quarter, with Sturgill making two more TD passes. The first was to Darian Girton from 41 yards, then Vincent Rozzi caught a seven-yard throw, with Maena Ochieng making the kick after the second score.
The Millers got on the board when Ethan Clark made an 11-yard run with 2:27 left in the half. But Sturgill and Rozzi struck again, connecting on a 34-yard pass with 20 seconds to go. Hillen made the extra-point kick.
The Tigers led 41-6 at halftime and the entire second half was played under a running clock. Noblesville scored its second touchdown late in the fourth quarter, with Nick Morris catching a 12-yard pass from Manny Hill-Altamarino. Caden Lydle made the extra-point kick.
Sturgill played solid, completing 10 of 16 pass attempts for 195 yards. Rozzi had four catches for 65 yards, while Girton’s three receptions totaled 65 yards.
Thembulembu led the rushing with 89 yards. Luke Hile totaled 66 yards rushing for Noblesville.
Fishers is 7-3 and hosts Hamilton Southeastern this Friday for the Sectional 6 championship. The Millers finished their season 1-9.
