The Fishers boys track and field team opened its season on Saturday with a 79-53 dual-meet win over Mount Vernon.
Caleb Gates placed first in two events for the Tigers, sweeping the discus and shot put. Keefer Soehngen led a 1-2-3 finish for Fishers in the 800 run, with Tate Meaux pacing a 1-2-3 sweep in the 3200 run.
Other winners for the Tigers were Will Clark in the 1600 run, Dawson Scally in the 200 dash, Joe Syrus in the long jump, Nathan Samson in the pole vault, and the 4×800 and 4×400 relays.
Fishers will compete in the Zionsville Invitational on Saturday.
