Fishers picked up an early Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on Tuesday, beating Zionsville 10-0 in a six-inning home game.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning with back-to-back RBI singles from Jade Frye and Olivia Latimer. Olivia Stinson batted in a run in the second inning, then Brooke Benson scored two on a left field single.
Benson struck again in the fourth inning with an RBI double; she was sent home quickly, as Hannah Mays doubled her in on the next at bat. Benson doubled again to score a run in the sixth inning, then was scored by a Mays single. Latimer would later single to get on base, and she was scored by Caroline Bernhardt, ending the game.
Benson and Bernhardt were both 4-for-4 on the night, with Latimer getting three hits. Mays, Courtney James and Kaylee Kardash all hit a double, in addition to Benson’s two doubles. Mays pitched a complete game, striking out five against three hits and no walks.
The Tigers are 2-0 and will play games this weekend in Evansville.
