The Fishers baseball team beat Hamilton Southeastern 6-1 in a Thursday home game for its fourth Hoosier Crossroads Conference sweep of the season.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning. Luke Cherry singled in Huston Dunn, then Zander Carnahan scored on an error. The Royals got a run back in the bottom of the first; Michael Hoog led off the inning with a home run.
Fishers scored two runs in the third inning. Deagan Repp got home when Carnahan reached on an error, then Carnahan scored on Jase Ruggles’ sacrifice fly. The Tigers added two more runs in the fifth inning: Dunn got home on Trevor Hall’s RBI groundout, then Mayo Fernandez singled in Carnahan.
Dunn and Fernandez both had two hits; Dunn had doubles both times and Fernandez hit one double. Hayden Werner pitched a complete game, striking out eight.
Hoog and Chase Bradle each had two hits for Southeastern, with Hoog and Kian Kelly both getting one double.
Fishers is 8-0 in conference play and 14-2 overall. The Tigers play road games at Lawrence North at 10 a.m. Saturday, then travel to Harrison for a 6 p.m. game. The Royals are 0-8 in HCC play and 6-12 overall; HSE plays a doubleheader Saturday at Bloomington North.
