Three more Carmel swimmers compete: Pash makes it to semifinals, Han & Bowen swim prelims

Swimming continued Friday night at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Carmel grad Kelly Pash reached the semifinals of the Women’s 200 medley race. Pash, a 26-time All American for the University of Texas, qualified 10th in the prelims with a time of 2:14.13 to advance to the semis. She then placed 11th in the semifinals, finishing in 2:14.32.

Two more Carmel swimmers competed in the Women’s 800 freestyle prelims. Lynsey Bowen placed 25th in a time of 8:45.30, while Kayla Han finished 28th, clocking in at 8:46.43.

In today’s prelims, Noblesville’s Luke Whitlock, swimming for the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers, will compete in the Men’s 1500 free event. The top eight advance to the Sunday night finals. Another Fishers swimmer, Julie Mishler, will compete in the morning Women’s 50 freestyle prelims, with the top 16 moving to the semifinals tonight.
