Two men were taken to an Indianapolis hospital and a third received minor injuries when a tire blew on the small pickup truck they were driving Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 31 and it crashed into a concrete barrier, Westfield Police Department said.
The crash happened just before 1:55 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. 31 northbound near the State Road 38 interchange for Sheridan and Noblesville. Housing subdivisions and MacGregor Park surround the intersection.
A news release issued just hours after the crash from Westfield Police Department said, “The driver of the truck was located unconscious inside the vehicle. The front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle and located a short distance away. The third passenger, was in the back seat and sustained minor injuries to his face. The driver and front seat passenger were both transported by ambulance to [Ascension] St. Vincent Hospital on 86th St. for treatment of significant but unknown injuries.”
