This Friday, April 19, you can hear Gino and Ed at Patsy’s Pub, 17419 Carey Road, Westfield. It’s live music from a bygone era. The Reporter caught up with Gino and Ed during open mic night on Tuesday, which the duo was using as a brief prequel to their Friday night performance.

Gino Gulley, though only in his mid-20s, told The Reporter his influences are largely from performers like Johnny Cash and Elvis, which is the music he grew up listening to.

Ed Pithey has been playing saxophone almost since the day he could walk. Pithey is a former Marine Corps musician who met Gino early this year.

If you like your live music to have shades of soul and Americana, stop by Patsy’s Pub Friday from 9 to 11 p.m. and be sure to wish Gino a late happy birthday, since his was on April 16. At the beginning their set Tuesday, Ed pulled out his sax to play a jazzy rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Gino, which brought a fair bit of applause from the house.
