Third quarter run sends Brebeuf past Westfield

Westfield found itself on the wrong end of a third-quarter run at Brebeuf Jesuit Friday, and eventually fell to the Braves 28-24.
The Shamrocks scored the first two touchdowns of the game, both from Koby Hauser. He scored from seven yards with six minutes left in the first quarter, then got in again from four yards early in the second. Alex Bales kicked both extra points, and answered a Brebeuf touchdown with a 49-yard field goal at the end of the half to keep the ‘Rocks ahead 17-7.
But the Class 3A No. 10 Braves found the end zone twice in the third period to go ahead 21-17. Westfield jumped back ahead late in the fourth when Hauser scored his third touchdown of the game, but Brebeuf answered a minute later. Westfield tried a final drive but turned the ball over on downs with 45 seconds left.
Hauser carried the ball 20 times, totaling 91 yards. Quarterback Cameron Nance had a solid game, completing 14 of 22 passes for 166 yards. Kaleb Pettijohn caught seven throws for 100 yards.
Westfield finished the regular season 4-5.
