Thelma Joy Julian

February 2, 1944 – October 4, 2021

Thelma Joy Julian, 77, Cicero, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at her home. She was born on February 2, 1944 to George and Thelma O’Neal in Sacramento, Calif.

Joy worked as a medical assistant and pacemaker technician for Heart Partners Associates for 15 years, retiring in 2010 here in Indianapolis. Also, she served as a newspaper dispatcher and EMT/ambulance driver while in Michigan. Along with those duties in Michigan, Joy worked with several doctors’ offices including an allergy specialist and general physician. Crosswords, movies, lunch dates, popcorn and chocolate brought her daily happiness. Joy was a loving wife, mother and Nana who loved her family and her little dog, Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Julian; daughters, Chelse (Bruce) Gatewood and Vickie (Dave) Montgomery; brother, Joe (Carol) O’Neal; sister, Charmon (Jack) Nuttall; eight grandchildren, including Kendall (Mason) Bishop, Bryce Gatewood, Dustin (Chelsey) Montgomery and Haley Montgomery; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Scott; and her sister, Georgia Cudd.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville.
