Universe of Pictures photography contest
Just as there is a universe of stories, there is a universe of pictures. Enter your personally taken photographs into the August 2019 Universe of Pictures Photography Contest for a chance to win prize money.
Pick up contest rules and entry forms at either the Cicero or Atlanta libraries and submit entries from Aug. 12 to 16. Photographs must be a minimum of 8” by 10”, mounted only on mat board, and accompanied by an entry form. Entries are limited to two per contestant.
Amateur (adults and kids) and professional photographers alike are eligible. Now is the time to put creative endeavors into practice.
Tuesdays With Friends: Cake decorating with Tonya
Surprise your kids or grandkids on their next birthday with a superbly-decorated and homemade cake or cupcake.
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Tonya Cassell will conduct a special presentation at the Cicero Library’s Tuesdays with Friends program.
Tonya will demonstrate the basics, such as how to decorate using tips, frost cupcakes and create various flowers and leaves. She also plans to teach how to make borders and even a Cookie Monster cake.
