Editor’s note: Christina Ivanova, Emilia’s mother, told The Reporter that the trips to Forest Park with Gabbi the Cat took place before the COVID-19 safety restrictions were in place and will not resume until it is safe to do so again. In the meantime, socially distant bike rides are still a common activity for Emilia and Gabbi. You can see video of Gabbi the Cat in action in this week’s “Hello, Hamilton County” with Paul Poteet.
I have two cats, Gabbi and Bella. Gabbi loves riding in my bike-basket. She also lets me push her in a swing! She mostly loves the round swings at Forest Park in the town of Noblesville, where I live. I think it’s because I started her out swinging with me when we first moved here a few months ago. Eventually, she could swing by herself.
One time we rode to Greek’s Pizzeria and sat outside, in the dining patio. Gabbi loved it! People are always surprised to see a CAT being walked. A few months ago, when we were dining at Greek’s Pizzeria, a couple said they also had a cat that would never do the things Gabbi does!
On the Forest Park playground, Gabbi usually walks to the round swings, and waits for me to pick her up, and swing her on one. Gabbi also loves her bike basket. The other day we rested at a picnic bench in the park and put Gabbi on the picnic tabletop. Immediately, she walked over and got in her basket.
One of Gabbi’s favorite costumes is her little pink, blue, and teal dress she wears when we go out for bicycle rides. This makes her look adorable.
She is very unique. I’m happy that I have her!
