Thanks for keeping our ‘Hawk’ in the air

Dear Editor:

Both personally and on behalf of 4th Hawk and The Reporter, I extend deep gratitude to all the great people in Cicero, Jackson Township and the Lights Over Morse Lake crew who made the 4th one of those rare versions of hard work that was also great fun.

If you were in Cicero for Lights Over Morse Lake on the 4th of July, you may have noticed an aerial photography drone flying around. There was more than one, but the one I am talking about is named Hawkeye 1 and it belongs to my company, 4th Hawk Consulting.

4th Hawk does a good deal of work with The Hamilton County Reporter. Recently that evolved to include aerial photography and video.

When preparing to film the fireworks show, Rusty and Chris Miller were absolutely vital in bringing this project together. Without their help in establishing contacts and making arrangements, this would have been a logistical nightmare.

Cicero Fire Department Chief Lance Overholser and Jackson Township Fire Department Chief Jeff Muszar were great to work with. Cicero Fire Department Assistant Chief Steve Smith did a wonderful job of making sure Hawkeye 1 stayed safe in the air. Cicero Police Major Jim Hunter was kind enough meet well before the 4th and to set aside a launch pad for us that was in the perfect location.

Oh yes, and Jerrald Hawkins work mowing “USA” into the hill overlooking the fireworks show made for a popular image in The Reporter’s daily edition. Well done, sir!

Those of you (over 16,000 at last count) who have watched, shared, liked and commented on the video on The Reporter’s Facebook page deserve thanks as well. It is a bit of an ego boost to see our work enjoyed by so many.

Keep watching the skies; there will be more Hawk’s Eye Views of Hamilton County coming to The Reporter.

Stu Clampitt
