Teresa Jean Pickett

November 26, 1961 – December 6, 2018

Teresa Jean Pickett, 57, while surrounded by her loving family and caregivers, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, December 6, 2018 at her home in Baker’s Corner. Born on November 26, 1961 in Noblesville, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Margaret L. (Hays) Heck.

Teresa was a 1980 graduate of Sheridan High School, and shortly following graduation her life would change forever. That was the summer when she met her soul mate and the love of her life, Dale Alan Pickett. She and Dale were married on October 22, 1982. Together they raised a wonderful family, as well as taking care of quite a few stray animals that happened to wander onto the farm.

Family was a huge part of who she was. It really didn’t matter if you were related to her or not, if you were a part of Teresa’s life, you were family. If someone could come up with a reason for family and friends to get together, Teresa was in. Birthdays, holiday parties, reunions, family camping trips, get-togethers with her knitting group, or just heading out on the bike with Dale and their riding buddies and getting lost in the beauty of the open road, those were the times that she held closest to her heart. Her work family meant the world to her as well. For 17 years Teresa scheduled appointments and helped keep Noblesville’s Hair Design by William running as smoothly as humanly possible. Teresa enjoyed the years she spent with her coworkers, and truly loved getting to visit with the clients that came into the shop.

Teresa attended the Baker’s Corner Wesleyan Church. She and Dale also rode with the Lebanon Chapter of the Gold Wing Riders Association.

Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Dale Pickett, Baker’s Corner; her two sons, Joshua Alan Pickett (Alyssa), Westfield, and Levi Thomas Pickett, Sheridan; two grandchildren, Autumn and Sadie Pickett, Westfield; one brother, Steven Heck (Ruth), Sheridan; brother-in-law, Michael Pickett (Adrienne); father- and mother-in-law, Ron and Janice Pickett, Baker’s Corner; and by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Heck, Lake Placid, Fla. Going down to Florida to spend time with her parents was always one of her favorite vacation spots. Teresa is also survived by her two feline BFFs, Opie and Ellie Mae, who were by her side until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Joe Heck.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan. Reverend Rex Dunning will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be presented to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
