The Hamilton Southeastern boys tennis team picked up a big win over Brownsburg 5-0 on Wednesday.
The No. 23-ranked Royals won all of their matches over the No. 20 Bulldogs in straight sets. In singles, Andrew Orme won the No. 1 match 6-4, 6-1, freshman Paul Schneider took the No. 2 match 7-5, 6-3, while another freshman, Rohan Golla, won at No. 3 6-2, 6-2.
Southeastern’s doubles teams also won easily. No. 1 Daniel Verde and Andrew Spirrison cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 victory, while the No. 2 team, seniors Logan Hubbard and Jackson Bill, was a 6-1, 6-4 winner.
“Overall, this was a nice team win, and it was great to win on all five courts,” said Royals coach Kirk Webber. “Way to protect our home courts.”
Southeastern is 2-5 and plays at the Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational on Saturday.
Hamilton Heights beat Taylor 4-1 in a Wednesday dual match.
Singles winners for the Huskies were No. 1 Nic Rice 6-1, 6-2 and No. 2 Ben Wolfgang 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Ethan Hall dropped a tough match 6-3, 7-6 (8). Heights swept the doubles without a loss of a game, as No. 1 Aiden Ray and Josh Russell and No. 2 Jake Martin and Erik Malott won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
The Huskies host Northwestern this afternoon.
Fishers won a 5-0 dual meet over Avon Tuesday.
In singles play, No. 1 Reese Knoderer and No. 2 Owen McEldowney were both victorious 6-0, 6-3. No. 3 singles Nate Simpkins won 6-1, 6-1. No. 1 doubles Andrew Leonard and Nicolas Rasmussen won 6-1, 6-3, while No. 2 doubles Logan Kay and Drew Barker came back to get a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory.
The No. 7-ranked Tigers travel to No. 5 Westfield today for a 5 p.m. dual meet.
