Tennis: ‘Hounds fall in state semi-finals

The Carmel girls tennis team lost to Cathedral 3-2 in the IHSAA state semi-finals, which took place Saturday morning at North Central.
The Greyhounds won the two doubles matches, with No. 1 Leila Antony and Lauren Littell scoring a 6-0, 6-0 shutout and No. 2 Katelyn Conley and Selena Liu winning 6-4, 6-0. Antony and Littell will now move on to the IHSAA doubles tournament, which starts next weekend.
Carmel finished its season 18-3, and made its 17th appearance at the state meet.

No. 2 singles: Apurva Manas lost to Meg Coleman 6-3, 4-6, 6-4
No. 3 singles: Emma Brune lost to Claire Kocielski 6-3, 7-6 (4)
No. 1 doubles: Leila Antony and Lauren Littell def. Bella Montefalco and Cole Spau 6-0, 6-0

Loy reaches regional final
Fishers sophomore Lucy Loy reached the final of the singles regional at Fishers on Saturday.
Loy won her first round match over Morristown senior Makenzie Logan 6-0, 6-0, then fell in the championship to Plainfield sophomore Jordyn Pax 7-6, 6-4.
