Monday marked the first day of official IHSAA practices for girls swimming.
Boys swimming has its first official practice on Nov. 6, but the vast majority of meets among Hamilton County teams will be co-ed. There are a handful of girls only meets to start the season, though, with Hamilton Heights getting in the water first. The Huskies girls will host Oak Hill on Nov. 13.
Guerin Catholic’s girls will take to the pool next, with a dual meet at Decatur Central on Nov. 14. Westfield’s girls team will host an invitational on Nov. 18.
After that, the boys teams will be ready for their first meets. The first major county dual meet is a co-ed one: Noblesville travels to Hamilton Southeastern on Nov. 21. Fishers opens its season at Westfield on Nov. 28 (the first Shamrocks boys meet of the year), while University swims at Elwood on Nov. 29.
The Heights boys begin their season on Nov. 21 at Anderson, while Guerin’s boys will start at Lawrence Central on Nov. 28.
Carmel’s first official swim meet is Dec. 5, when the Greyhounds host North Central. However, the Carmel diving team will compete in the Noblesville Diving Meet, which takes place on Dec. 2.
