Swimming: Royals start season with sweep of Millers

The Hamilton Southeastern and Noblesville swim teams opened their seasons Tuesday by competing against each other in a dual meet at the Royals’ natatorium.
Southeastern won both the girls and the boys meets. The Royal girls were victorious 130-56, taking nine of the 12 events.
Six different HSE girls won individual events: Abby Harter (individual medley), Bri Saple (50 freestyle), Sarah Ballard (diving), Madison Kertin (butterfly), Emily Barnes (100 free) and Olivia Harter (backstroke). Southeastern swept all three relays as well.
As for Noblesville, freshman Caitlin Marshall was a double winner, placing first in the 200 and 500 freestyles. Sammy Huff won the breaststroke.
The Royals boys team won its dual meet 105-80. Blake Ratliff was first in two events, the IM and the backstroke. DJ Rogers took the 50 free, Nathan Barr won the diving and HSE swept all three relays.
Jack Wolfred won twice for the Millers, finishing first in the 200 and 100 freestyles. Other Noblesville winners were Evan Diamente in the butterfly, Aaron Helms in the 500 free and Sam Bleisch in the breaststroke.
