FISHERS – The Hamilton Southeastern swim teams wrapped up their regular season Thursday by hosting Zionsville in a dual meet.

The Eagles swept the Royals in both divisions. Zionsville’s girls won 100-86, while the Eagles boys won 100-85, but it was still a competitive dual. Southeastern won five events in both competitions, including all the relay races.

Royals coach Christian Hanselmann said he was “really happy” with how his team swam. It was Senior Night for HSE, and there was plenty of spirit at the pool.

“Really, tonight’s more about celebrating the seniors,” said Hanselmann. “One thing that I do with them is I give them some leeway to wire the lineup for this meet, so it’s fun. They get to choose what everyone swims and it’s a good environment. I’m happy with the energy that people brought to the meet today.”

Southeastern shined in the relays. The girls team opened the meet by winning the medley relay; the swimmers were Naomi Haines, Julia Kiley, Audrey Crawford and Kiley Zoeller. Kiley swam on all three relays; she joined Eloise Harrison, Meghan Voelker and Crawford to win the 200 freestyle relay, and later teamed with Voelker, Crawford and Zoeller for first place in the 400 free relay.

Kiley also won an individual event, leading a 1-2 finish in the breaststroke. Harrison took second in that event. Crawford finished first in the butterfly.

As for the boys, Derek Robison and Jihoon Jung swam on all three first-place relays. They joined Jacob Frey and Collin Huston for a blue ribbon in the medley relay, then later teamed with Nolan Pugh and Xander Goss to claim the 200 free relay. Robison and Jung completed the sweep by winning the 400 free relay with Camden Bailey and Jack Waren.

Jung picked up an individual victory in the butterfly event. Gavin Tucker and Dryden Moore went 1-2 in diving.

The Royals divers will compete tonight at the Warren Central Diving Invitational. Southeastern travels to Noblesville next Saturday, Jan. 27, to compete in the reserve championships. The varsity is now preparing for the post-season – the Royals host the girls sectional on Feb. 1 and 3, while the boys travel to Fishers for the boys sectional on Feb. 15 and 17.
