The Hamilton Heights swim teams swept a three-way meet with Guerin Catholic and Liberty Christian on Thursday to celebrate its Senior Night.
In the girls meet, the Huskies won with 108 points, followed by the Golden Eagles with 67 and Liberty Christian with five points. Heights went 1-2 in six different events.
First up was the medley relay, where the team of Rachel Sanqunetti, Emily Lester, Claire Sloderbeck and Tara Holder placed first and the foursome of Tiffany Williams, Lucy Uhrick, Ryleigh Poe and Allison Osborne placed second. Other 1-2 events for the Huskies were the 200 freestyle (Sanqunetti and Madi Hasler), the individual medley (Uhrick and Lester), the 500 freestyle (Holder and Hasler), the backstroke (Sanqunetti and Holder) and the breaststroke (Lester and Uhrick).
The Huskies also got wins from Jordyn Feiwell in diving, Sloderbeck in the 100 free and the 400 freestyle relay team of Kat Cox, Poe, Holder and Sanqunetti.
Guerin Catholic had three event wins. Mary Kate Cline took first in the 50 free and the backstroke and was part of GC’s winning 200 freestyle relay team, along with Emma Abdalla, Danielle Hunckler and Stephanie DeLancey.
In the boys meet, Heights won with 86 points, followed by Guerin Catholic with 35 and Liberty Christian with 32.
The Huskies scored victories in 10 of 12 events. Jared Holder won the 50 free and backstroke, Logan Fakes took the 200 free and the breaststroke, and both swam on Heights’ winning medley and 400 freestyle relays, along with Joe Ringer and Tony Hardent.
Harden also was first in the 100 free, while Ringer won the 500 free. The 200 freestyle relay got its first victory of the season, with Matt Crusenberry, Josh Glover, Payton Tindal and Travis Kruetzer competing in that event. Lee Martin won diving.
Other solid performances came from Ringer in the 200 free (second), Glover in the breaststroke (second) and Kruetzer in the 50 free (third).
Guerin Catholic’s Matthew Jones won two events: The individual medley and the butterfly.
