A report of a suicidal person and a police pursuit on Wednesday evening resulted in a search by Carmel Police Department’s SWAT team and K9 officers.
According to a statement issued by the Carmel Police Department, officers received a report of a suicidal subject in the 1200 block of W. 146th Street.
Upon arrival, it was determined the individual fled in a stolen vehicle. Officers located and pursued the vehicle for a short time before discontinuing the pursuit for the safety of the community. The individual was later located but again fled from officers, this time on foot into a wooded area near Old Meridian and Main Street.
Area law enforcement agencies assisted CPD in the search for the subject but were unable to locate him.
