Noblesville took care of business on the road Tuesday night, winning at Liberty Christian 77-40.
The Millers outscored the Lions in all four quarters of the game. Noblesville led 19-12 after one period, with Luke Almodovar scoring 10 points. Hunter Walston took over in the second quarter, also adding 10 points and helping the Millers to a 41-26 halftime advantage.
Noblesville got stronger as the second half progressed, leading 64-38 after three quarters. Aaron Fine had eight points in that period. The Millers let their defense finish things up in the fourth quarter, holding Liberty Christian to three points.
“Good team win,” said Noblesville coach Scott McClelland. “Three in double figures. Six other kids scored.”
Almodovar led with 22 points, followed by Walston with 18 and Fine with 15.
“We’ve got some guys that are really stepping up and giving us some really good minutes,” said McClelland.
The coach talked about his depth over the past few games, saying that “here in the last couple weeks, we’ve had major contributions from Justin Curry. “I thought Luke Etchison gave us some good minutes tonight. TJ Davidson did.”
Noblesville is 14-5 and hosts Brownsburg Friday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game. The Bulldogs lead the HCC with a 5-0 record, while the Millers are second at 4-1.
