The New Augusta Bluegrass Band will debut at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 at “String Time on the Square” in downtown Noblesville.

This free concert takes place on the shady northeast lawn of the picturesque Hamilton County Courthouse and is open to the public. Benefit raffle ticket sales begin at 6 p.m., with a drawing at intermission. The public is invited and encouraged to bring lawn chairs for open seating.

The family-friendly concert series is produced by local non-profit Legacy Keepers Music as a Road Show in cooperation with the Hedgehog Music Showcase.

The New Augusta Bluegrass Band hails from Indianapolis with four members, all of whom can weave a spell around their audience with wonderful harmonies as they present a popular mix of traditional bluegrass, gospel, swing tunes, inventive covers and even some originals.  Roger Banister plays fiddle and banjo; John Gates plays mandolin; Lisa Wagoner, bass; and David Schroeder, guitar.

This is the second year for the well-received concert series that was launched to help promote bluegrass, country and old-time American heritage music in the Noblesville area. Bands that have played in past weeks include PrairieTown, Blackberry Jam, and Cornfields and Crossroads.

Still to come on Saturday, Sept. 1 is Gold Country, featuring the classic sounds of Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Emmylou Harris, with Janet Gilray performing lead vocals and rhythm guitar; Myra Dworski playing fiddle; Harry Davis on lead guitar and Bob Foster performing on bass.

Legacy Keepers Music is a 501(c)(3) educational charity whose mission is to promote family friendly musical entertainment to share music embedded with historical folklore and American heritage.
