Stephen ‘Steve’ Paul Eikenberry

January 13, 1943 – April 10, 2018

Stephen ‘Steve’ Paul Eikenberry, 75, Carmel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at home. He was born on January 13, 1943 to Merle and Dorothy (Miller) Eikenberry in Fort Wayne.

Steve spent 35 years as a professional educator. His career included the role of middle school Social Studies teacher in Marion, Ind.; Principal at Eastern High School in Greentown, Ind.; and his final position before retirement was at Wabash High School where he served as Principal for 18 years. Steve and Nancy retired in Carmel to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Steve would do anything for his family, especially his granddaughters. He faithfully attended St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers and enjoyed serving in the Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple.

He was united in marriage for 50 years, with his loving wife, Nancy (Stanley) Eikenberry. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Mike (Shawna) Eikenberry and Jane (David) Schuth; five granddaughters, Audrey and Claire Eikenberry, and Elizabeth, Annalisa and Alexandra Schuth; a sister, Linda Falconer; a brother, Mike Eikenberry; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers, with Rev. Patrick Click officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, with an additional visitation at the church at 10 a.m. on Monday until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038; Wabash High School, 580 N. Miami St., Wabash, IN 46992; or, Riley Children’s Foundation, 30 S. Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
