The Indiana General Assembly’s Legislative Council recently named State Sen. Victoria Spartz (R-Noblesville) chair of the Audit and Financial Reporting Subcommittee of the Legislative Council.
The audit committee is responsible for independent review and oversight of the Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA) and the examination processes. The committee monitors independence, evaluates findings and provides guidance to the SBOA, among other things.
“As someone who has been involved with auditing and financial reporting for large public and private companies for over a decade, I look forward to contributing my knowledge and best practices to governmental entities,” Spartz said. “In addition to providing Hoosiers with state and local government accountability, the audits provide valuable insight into the operation of any organization.”
The Legislative Council is comprised of eight members of the Indiana Senate and eight members of the Indiana House of Representatives.
