State Senator and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Scott Baldwin announced Tuesday the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Indiana PAC in his campaign for reelection to represent District 20.

“We are proud to endorse Scott Baldwin, as he is a proven supporter of Indiana’s small businesses and an owner of one himself,” NFIB Indiana State Director Natalie Robinson said. “This election cycle, it is crucial that we have strong pro-small business advocates in the General Assembly, and we are confident that Scott Baldwin will continue to be one. He earned an 82 percent NFIB voting record, further proving his commitment to small business issues. We look forward to continuing working with him and strengthening the small business economy in the Hoosier State.”

Baldwin said he understands how small businesses are affected by government action.

“I’m humbled to have earned the endorsement of the NFIB Indiana PAC,” Baldwin said. “As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the impact government can have on small businesses and the economy. That’s why I’ll continue to fight to lower taxes, eliminate red tape and support entrepreneurship and innovation to keep Main Street strong.”

In the state Senate, Baldwin has authored and supported policies to strengthen Indiana’s reputation as one of the friendliest states in the country for small businesses, including authoring legislation to provide $100 million in federal tax relief to Hoosier small businesses. He has also supported policies that reduced individual income tax rates, expanded eligibility for the state’s venture capital investment tax credit for Hoosier entrepreneurs, eliminated the state’s ban on “happy hours” and increased access to affordable child care to further support Hoosier small businesses and their employees, among others.

Baldwin, with more than 25 years of military and law enforcement experience, is a successful entrepreneur and business owner, a husband, and a father of three.
