State Senator Fady Qaddoura (D-Indianapolis) on Monday participated in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr at the White House with the President of the United States and the First Lady. Sen. Qaddoura made the following statement on the visit:
“Today, I am honored to join the President and First Lady at the White House for the celebration of Eid. Eid marks the end of Ramadan, a holy month to celebrate our blessings and reflect on how to better help all people, especially those fleeing violence and oppression or facing poverty around the world.
“Regardless of political affiliation, it is an honor to visit the White House on this occasion to recognize the Muslim community in the United States and around the world. When we recognize all communities, more Americans feel a sense of belonging and opportunity. On Eid, let us recommit to promoting and protecting liberty, freedom and opportunity for all people.”
Sen. Qaddoura represents Indiana Senate District 30, which encompasses parts of Hamilton and Marion counties. For more information on Sen. Qaddoura, his legislative agenda or other State Senate business call 1-800-382-9467 or visit IN.gov/s30.
