State Bank joins Carmel Education Foundation’s Taste of Carmel event as VIP sponsor

On Oct. 28, Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) President Tricia Reynolds was honored to receive a $5,000 donation from State Bank during the dedication ceremony for their new Carmel location at 126th Street and Gray Road.

State Bank will be recognized as the First Taste VIP Sponsor at Taste of Carmel, presented by CEF, on Thursday, March 3, 2022. The First Taste VIP Party features a chef presentation, signature cocktail, entertainment, and special gift for up to 200 guests. VIP attendees will join more than 1,000 other community members at the main event immediately following the VIP reception.

CEF Executive Director Jennifer Penix says she is enthusiastic about this partnership that extends beyond Taste of Carmel, one of two annual CEF fundraisers. State Bank will also present a unique “shark tank” type of scholarship that will recognize a Carmel High School senior with an entrepreneurial spirit. This scholarship will be presented in May 2022, with the application opening in December 2021.

“The partnership between State Bank and CEF is integral to our mission of supporting Carmel Clay students in lifelong learning,” Penix said. “The team members at State Bank are focused on creating connections and having a positive impact in our community, and their presence at Taste of Carmel, as well as their engagement in our scholarship process, is a testament to their values. We look forward to growing our partnership and benefiting even more kids and families in Carmel.”

As the non-profit funding partner of Carmel Clay Schools, CEF raises funds through events like Taste of Carmel to provide teacher grants, scholarships, and programs benefiting Carmel Clay students, staff, and families. The CEF Board of Directors has been working to broaden the scope of the scholarship program which currently awards over 100 annual scholarships. The State Bank scholarship will be a unique addition and will encourage students to go beyond a typical application process.
