Stars & Stripes Forever in Noblesville

Storms swept through Hamilton County twice on Thursday: once in the morning and once in the evening. Between those two rounds of rain, Noblesville had the only dry 4th of July parade. Carmel had the wettest parade we have ever seen. Cicero canceled its late-morning parade over public safety concerns. Sheridan also canceled its parade, but the local version of the Rebel Alliance had a small one later in the day anyway.

Thus, by 4 p.m. on July 4, relatively-dry Noblesville was the focus of parade fans from far and wide. While we have not heard any official estimates at press time, The Reporter can tell you that this year the streets of Noblesville looked more packed than we have seen them. It was so packed our two photographers didn’t even see each other!

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of road construction stays this town from the festive completion of its appointed parades.
