The Hamilton County Parks Department announced that one of its nature center animals, a Russian tortoise named “Sputnik,” has gone missing.

According to the Parks Department, the most probable scenario is that he was stolen from his tank over the weekend during business hours. Sputnik is about eight inches long and about six inches wide.
Sputnik was surrendered by a local family many years ago and has been a welcomed addition to the Cool Creek Park Nature Center. He is healthy and happy with the other educational animals of the Cool Creek Nature Center.
