As the season changes, I, like many of you, welcome the renewal that spring brings. I am reminded of the importance of growth, healing, and safety – core beliefs that drive our work at Prevail.
Many people do not realize that a portion of our funding comes from federal grants (VOCA) Victim of Crimes Act and (FVPSA) Family Violence Prevention Services Act. These funds were instrumental in helping Prevail open its doors in 1986.
Since then, this funding has played a critical role in ensuring that survivors of crime and abuse receive the immediate and long-term support on their healing journey. From crisis services and court support to safety planning, and case management, these federal funds help to create pathways to safety and stability for those in crisis.
Last year alone, nearly 3,200 survivors and their children received support through our services.
We are actively monitoring the federal funding situation. We are working to strengthen our funding sources, ensuring that survivors have access to comprehensive support beyond government assistance. Your generosity allows us to go beyond the basics – offering personalized support, innovative programs, and community outreach that truly change lives. With your help, we can adapt, expand, and ensure that every survivor has access to the comprehensive resources they need to not only find safety but also rebuild and thrive.
Together, we are creating a future where survivors do more than survive – they thrive.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Spring is not just a season of renewal – it is a season of hope.
Together, we are saving lives!
