Sports roundup: Fishers boys soccer wins all-county game with GC

Fishers beat Guerin Catholic 2-1 in an all-county game Thursday at the Golden Eagles’ field.
Class 3A No. 18 Guerin led 1-0 at halftime before the 3A No. 20 Tigers rallied in the second half. Quinn Manford and Cam O’Connor scored one goal each for Fishers. Daniel Cloran scored for the Golden Eagles.

BOYS TENNIS
Westfield beat No. 25-ranked Brownsburg Thursday by a score of 3-2.
The No. 27-ranked Shamrocks were led by No. 2 singles Quentin Markle who improved his record to 5-1 on the year. No. 3 singles player Connor Housefield played some of his best tennis of the year won his match 6-1, 6-1. With the meet tied at 2-2, seniors WeiBin Cheah and Alex Mullet fought back from being down 2-5 in the second set to eventually win the set 7-6 and clinch to overall team victory.
“It was a great overall team effort,” said Westfield coach Tony Peters.

GIRLS GOLF
University lost a close match to Park Tudor 200-206 Thursday at Wood Wind.
The Trailblazers were lead by Becky Williams with a one-over par 37. The team heads to the Ulen Invitational today in Lebanon for its last 18-hole tournament before sectionals.

VOLLEYBALL
University defeated Faith Christian in four sets on Friday, 25-17, 26-24, 18-25, 25-19.
Stella Behforouz led the team to victory with a 14-point serving run to close out the second set. Behforouz also led the team in kills.
