Spavia Day Spa in Fishers welcomed World Health Day on April 7 by holding an open house and giving 10 percent of all product sales from that day to child development at the YMCA of Fishers. In addition, they launched a month-long celebration of motherhood, focusing on the importance of women’s wellness in individual lives and the community as a whole.
“We’re really big about how hard moms and dads work,” Owner Amanda Smith said.
Smith and her husband Chris, who met at IUPUI, now have three children and appreciate how the YMCA has impacted their own family.
The YMCA of Fishers, 9012 126th St., offers a variety of amenities including fitness equipment, group exercise classes, sports leagues, swimming pools, childcare services, an interdenominational chapel, and more.
While the Smiths may be new to the Spavia family, having taken over ownership of the Day Spa in Fishers about two months ago, they are not new to the area or to the personal care industry. They have owned the Salons of Castleton for four years, which hosts independent stylists, barbers, nail technicians, and aestheticians.
“We’ve found that the beauty industry is a very personal business, and there is a purpose or reason for the service,” Smith said. “Someone is going to be able to help you with your issues. We’ve seen over the past four years how much of an influence that really makes for one person and for the community.”
When they began looking for another business opportunity, that sense of service played a large part in finding the right endeavor.
With locations in 23 states, Spavia’s mission is “making a positive difference in the world, one guest at a time.”
“We liked the mission statement, and they aligned with what we want to do with the community to be able to help as many guests and people as possible,” Smith said.
The spa franchise aims to give back and make a positive impact in a variety of ways through Spavia Cares. For the Day Spa in Fishers that means participating in and supporting community events as well hosting events.
As part of the celebration leading up to Mother’s Day, the Day Spa in Fishers is giving away a “Mom’s Ultimate Luxury Spa Gift Basket” valued at $700. The basket contains more than a dozen products used in Spavia’s signature treatments, such as IMAGE the MAX Facial Cleanser, Comfort Zone Luminous Serum, and Pure Fiji Orange Blossom Body Butter, plus a Scout rose quartz “Stone of the Heart” bracelet and more.
Anyone can nominate a deserving mom by visiting the sweepstakes landing page at woobox.com/bo28hx through May 12. Submissions are limited to one per person. The raffle site will generate a selection, and the winner will be notified by Spavia to coordinate prize pickup.
Located at 8594 E. 116th St., Suite 10, Spavia Day Spa in Fishers offers massage, from Swedish to more corrective deep tissue and sports massage, and can implement CBD oils to relieve pain at the patient’s request. They also provide body treatments that remove toxins, scalp treatments, hand and foot treatments, and facials focused on specific skin issues.
“I like to say our aestheticians have magic fingers,” Smith said. “We cannot succeed without a good strong team that really has a heart and wants to provide for guests. They all care, and their end goal is that they want to help you. We enjoy that people will go in stressed and come out feeling better.”
