Hamilton Southeastern basketball star Sydney Parrish announced on Monday that she has committed to play for the University of Oregon. Parrish, a junior for the Royals, has been a heavily recruited player since her freshman year and had been looking at several high-profile schools. Parrish was the driving force behind Southeastern winning the Class 4A state championship this season, scoring 30 points in the title game.
Oregon has been steadily raising its profile as a women’s basketball school over the past few years. The Ducks made history this month by making it to the Final Four for the first time ever, being stopped by eventual national champion Baylor in the semi-finals. Oregon reached the Elite Eight the two previous seasons.
