Southeastern girls win Royal Relays

The Hamilton Southeastern girls track and field team won the 19th annual Royal Relays last Saturday.

Southeastern was led by Elizabeth Butler, who won the 1600 run, and Maggie Powers, who was victorious in the 3200 run. The Royals also claimed first in the distance medley relay, which consisted of Addison Smith, Julianne McLean, Ciara Kepner and Ava Powers.

In the field event relays, Riley Williams had the top pole vault performance of the day at 11 feet, 9 inches. Williams’ result was combined with Olivia Maynard’s 9 feet, and the HSE team placed second. The Royals also got runner-up finishes from the 4×800 relay team of Elise Herman, McLean, Grace Newton and Jackie Hurlock, and the 4×200 team of Jocelyn Davis, Sanai Smith, Alyssa Karwowski and Chloe Senefeld.
