Wednesday was a big day for Hamilton Southeastern Schools Energy Management Director Bob Rice. He was at Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate & Junior High School (also known as “The HIJH”) for the “Flip the Switch” ceremony, marking the start of generating electricity for the school building through the solar arrays on the HIJH property.

The HSE School Corporation entered into a contract with Ameresco Inc. in January of this year to install the $2.8 million solar project. The work is being financed by a four-year bond issue, which is not expected to trigger a tax increase.
