Soil and Water spices up meeting with throwback chili supper

The Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (HCSWCD) announces its annual meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in the O.V. Winks building, located at 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville.

In celebration of its recent 50th anniversary, HCSWCD is re-instituting an evening meeting and a chili supper.

“We are excited to throw it back this year to get back to our roots and rekindle those conservation feelings from the past. We hope to see some of our longstanding partners in conservation within the community at the dinner along with our new partners,” said Conservation Administrator Ginger Davis.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and it is free. This year will feature various local exhibitors and a speaker from The Nature Conservancy to discuss the importance of a local Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA).

Attendees at the annual meeting will be presented with a summary report of 2018 HCSWCD activities and a vote will be held to elect a supervisor for the one open position on the HCSWCD board. The HCSWCD Board of Supervisors Election Candidate is Dustin Forrer. Nominations from the floor will also be accepted.
