The Fishers softball team cruised to a 10-0, five-inning win over Greenfield-Central in a Thursday home game.
The Tigers scored their first two runs in the second inning. Hannah Abbott got the first one, on an RBI fielder’s choice by Sophie Schoch. Emily Walsh scored the second run, getting home on Sydney Abel’s double.
Fishers took control in the third inning, with eight runs. Kaylee Kardash singled in Olivia Latimer, then Hannah Mays drove home Karyn Trice and Kardash. Schoch picked up another RBI when her single scored Abbott, giving the Tigers at 6-0 lead.
Abby Gavin batted in Walsh, then Schoch scored on a wild pitch to make the score 8-0. Latimer doubled in two runs to finish things up, sending home Nyah Duplessis and Gavin.
Mays and Abel both finished the game with two hits. Mays also got the pitching win, striking out five and allowing no hits in three innings of work. Kamara Walker threw the next two innings, with two strikeouts and only one hit.
Fishers is 3-3 and hosts Bloomington North Saturday for a doubleheader.

Hamilton Southeastern dropped a home game to Class 4A No. 5 New Palestine 14-2 in five innings on Thursday.
The Royals scored both of their runs in the fourth inning. Jenna Chase got on base with a double, advanced to third during the next at-bat, then was singled in by Daphne Bush. Later, Jolie Johnson hit a double to score Bush. Reece Massey went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Southeastern is 3-4 and plays at doubleheader at Harrison on Saturday.
