Hamilton Southeastern scored two easy wins over Fort Wayne teams on Saturday.
First, the Royals took care of Snider 11-1 in five innings. Southeastern was in control from the start, scoring five runs in the first inning. Abby Taylor got on base with a double, then was scored by Lillian Leiner’s single. Leiner was batted in on a Jordan Rager RBI groundout. Abbey Willmann singled in Libby Ratliff, then Kaelin Wincek and Holly Hosfield (running for Willmann) got home after Ahliza Moore reached on error.
Taylor was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Nicole Lang and Nicole Dillow both drove in two runs; Dillow’s runs came on a two-RBI double in the third inning. Olivia Bucher pitched all five innings, striking out six.
Southeastern cruised past Carroll 7-1 in its second game. The Royals scored three times in the first inning: Rager batted in Taylor, then Ratliff’s double sent Leiner and Rager home.
In the fourth inning, Southeastern added four runs. Wincek scored after Moore reached on error, then Leiner cracked a triple into right field to send Dillow and Taylor home. Rager’s subsequent double scored Leiner.
Courtney Kocal pitched a complete game, tossing six strikeouts. The Royals did not issue a walk the entire day.
Southeastern is 10-5 and plays at Mooresville on Monday.
