The Hamilton Southeastern softball team cruised to a Thursday win at Lawrence North 9-4.
The Royals broke through in the top of the third inning, when Jenna Chase blasted a three-run home run, also scoring Lani Wyrick and Taylor Larson. Southeastern added another run in the fourth; Maddie Bucher scored when Jenna Chase was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
The Royals erupted for five runs in the top of the seventh inning. Sage Ladig batted in the first run, with her center field hit sending Larson home. Lucy Hahn was next, with a left field single to score Madi Yankauskas. That brought up Payton Fox, and she nailed a left field homer, also sending Tessa Sexauer (running for Ladig) and Hahn.
Chase finished the game 2-for-4, with a homer and a double, and totaled four RBIs. Chase also pitched a complete game, striking out seven.
Southeastern is 5-6 and plays Saturday at the Whiteland Invitational.

Fishers fell to Class 3A No. 1 Yorktown 4-1 in a Thursday home game.
Jenna Grubb had the lone hit for the Tigers, batting in Jenna Grubb in the fifth inning. Kate Murray threw five strikeouts.
Fishers is 3-5 and hosts Lawrence North this afternoon.

Carmel dropped a 4-2 game to Pendleton Heights Wednesday at Cherry Tree Softball Complex.
The Greyhounds scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Maddie Stacy doubled in Elsa Morrison. The Arabians would then score two runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Carmel’s second run came in the bottom of the sixth when Morrison stole home plate.
Hussain had two hits for the Greyhounds.
Carmel is 4-4 and hosts its Invitational this weekend, playing Avon today at 4 p.m. and Franklin Central tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Hamilton Heights dropped a 6-5 Hoosier Conference game Wednesday at Tipton.
The Huskies started the game with three runs in the first inning. Lily Roush singled in Faith Hittle, then later scored on Kaylle Rhoton’s RBI groundout. Ashlyn Fletcher then doubled home Isabella Neiling.
The Blue Devils scored three runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game. Heights took a 4-3 lead in the third inning after Rhoton singled in Roush. But Tipton added three more runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good. The Huskies got a run in the seventh; Alayna Baber got on with a base hit, moved to third base on Roush’s double, then scored when Neiling hit a sacrifice fly.
Roush had three hits for the game, and also threw nine strikeouts in relief.
Heights is 3-5 and plays this afternoon at Elwood.

On Wednesday, the Blackhawks fell to Delphi 10-0 in a five-inning Hoosier Heartland Conference game. Taylor Bates had Sheridan’s lone hit.
The ‘Hawks dropped a 15-5, five-inning game to Tipton Thursday at Biddle Park. The Blue Devils were up 15-0 before Sheridan scored five runs in the fifth inning. Chaney Smith was 2-for-3 at the plate, Maelei Casler batted in two runs and Kendra Blankenship hit a double.
The Blackhawks are 2-5 and play another game at Delphi on Monday.
