Noblesville got a 4-2 win at North Central on Thursday.
The Panthers got on the board with a run in the second inning. The Millers tied it up in the top of the fourth; Shea Sterrett hit a sacrifice fly to score Abigail Harvey.
North Central took a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning, but Noblesville answered again, tying the game on the first pitch of the sixth inning when Julia Furiak hit a solo home run. The Millers pulled ahead with two runs in the seventh; Ella White’s right field line drive scored Julia Skinner, then Madison Taylor’s center field hit got White home.
White finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate. Chloe Tragesser was 2-for-4, including a double. Taylor pitched four innings, then Baily Ryan threw the last three innings, getting the win. Both only allowed three hits each.
Noblesville is 16-10 and hosts Lawrence North Saturday morning in its regular-season finale.
‘Rocks finish regular season with win at McCutcheon
Westfield won an away game at McCutcheon 8-5 on Thursday.
The Shamrocks scored their first run in the second inning, with Rebekah Davidson hitting a bunt fielder’s choice to send Madeline Hunter home. The Mavericks tied the game in the bottom of the inning, but Westfield added two runs in the top of the third. Brooklyn Carey scored on a wild pitch, then Ashley Swartout scored Regan Nickel with a sacrifice bunt.
Westfield extended its lead to 5-2 in the fifth inning after Swartout hit a two-RBI single to send Reghan Oland and Nickel home. McCutcheon tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, and the score stayed tied at 5-5 after the sixth inning.
The Shamrocks pulled ahead in the seventh. Oland scored after Sara Harmeyer reached on error, Nickel got home on a passed ball, then Hunter stole home. Westfield then went three-up, three-down in the bottom of the inning to seal the win.
Nickel was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Oland went 2-for-4. Swartout totaled three RBIs. Avery Wagner pitched the complete game win.
The ‘Rocks finish the regular season 9-16 and will host Noblesville Monday in the first game of the sectional.
‘Hawks fall at Frankton
Sheridan dropped a 4-2 game to Frankton on Thursday.
The Blackhawks scored their first run in the first inning, with Audrey Reed hitting a solo home run. But the Eagles got two runs in the second inning and held the lead from there. Sheridan’s second run came in the seventh inning, with Reed batting in Allie Delph on a right field hit.
Reed, Cassie Vargas and Delph all had two hits, with Vargas getting a double.
The Blackhawks finished their regular season 9-11 and will be off until next Thursday, when they travel to the Rossville sectional to play in a semi-final game.
Royals run away from Ben Davis
Hamilton Southeastern ran away with its regular-season finale, beating Ben Davis 8-1 on Thursday.
The Royals scored seven runs in the fourth inning, starting with three straight doubles. Libby Ratliff started the double parade, then she was sent home by Nicole Lang’s left field double. Kaelin Wincek was the next to double, and her hit sent Lang in to score.
Ahliza Moore hit a right field single to get Wincek home. Moore was moved around and eventually scored on Lillian Leiner’s single. Jordan Rager was next, and she smacked a left field double to get Nicole Dillow and Abby Taylor home. Ratliff was back at the plate next, and her single scored Leiner.
Southeastern scored one more run in the fifth inning, with Moore’s single getting Lang home.
Ratliff and Lang both had three hits, while Leiner and Moore each had two. Jaylah Guilliam went six innings for the win, striking out five and allowing only four hits.
The Royals finished the regular season 20-6, and will play Fishers Monday in a first-round game at the Westfield sectional.
Tigers drop regular season finale at Anderson
Fishers dropped its regular-season finale at Anderson Thursday, by the score of 3-1.
The Tigers scored their run in the seventh inning. Brooke Benson hit a triple to get on base, and was sent home on a sacrifice fly by Olivia Latimer. Caroline Bernhardt was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Fishers finished the regular season 14-10 and will play Hamilton Southeastern on Monday in the first round of the Westfield sectional.
