The Hamilton Heights softball team beat Jay County 3-0 Wednesday to reach the championship game of Sectional 24 at Delta.

The Huskies scored two runs in the second inning; Isabel Morrow singled in McKenzie Jackson and Melanee Forrester. Jackson scored again in the fourth inning; she hit a one-out double and was sent home by Forrester’s center field single.

“To prepare for tonight, we just hit the last week and a half,” said Heights coach Shelby Wills. “I think every practice, we probably pitched the girls about 100 balls each. We’re just going to continue to do that going forward.”

Lily Cash pitched a complete game, allowing one hit.

Heights is 12-11 and plays Yorktown at 6 p.m. tonight for the sectional title. The Huskies are going for their third consecutive sectional crown.
